Well, that and fine-tuning the X-ray so that a clear picture would develop!

Hi Emsy

Candy my dwarf, had aggressive tumors, at 1 year 8 months. The vet said even if she survived the op removal, the tumors would grow back. One Tumor was the size of a grape, located in the middle of her chest, and the other was on her side. Candy was having difficulties breathing, due to the tumor was pushing on her chest, and she was very uncomfortable, not at all doing normal hammy things, but still eating and drinking. I opted to let her go peacefully, due to the vet said, the tumors would take her, and it's just a matter of a short time..:/

Hi Teddy! I'm so sorry about Candy! When did that happen? I'm having a tough time remembering if I knew about that or not, sorry. I have not figured out when exactly the right time is to have Penny pts, but I think it may be this coming week. She's not playing, only sleeping. The only thing that makes me hesitant is making sure it's not due to giving her too much pain medicine, which the vet said can happen since she said I could play around with the doses to see what works.

This is so sad but I am glad you have some relief knowing what is wrong with her. Penny has been one of my favorites since her story was one I followed closely when I first came to HC. I can remember her antics, not being very good girl in her coroplast (I believe it was) playpen that you made for for your hammies and all she wanted to do was get out. You have given her a wonderful life!

Aww thank you Erin! And you are right! She always figured out way to get out of her 40 gallon tank, whether it be crawling up the water bottle or tipping her igloo over and standing on it. And when in the coroplast play area, she would leap off of toys to the top of the coroplast and away she'd run. lol My biggest frustration with playtime was keeping her and Gizmo apart. lol He's 3 yrs old and all skin and bones just about but the smell and sound of Penny keeps him going I think.
