Let us know how they are settling.
If only the bin makers realised the potential secondary market in rodent cages lol.

That`s true Piebald. If you have the means to cut a square off the front of the Bin and have a small hamster cage that can have the panel with the door removed using wire cutters of a Deremel tool, this can be screwed to the front of the bin using small nuts/bolts and washers and you have a good cage ready to use. All of which would probably cost around £15 depending on the size and price of the bin. Would probably be a better alternative to some cages sold in Pets At Home for example. x

Just imagine if they knew about it, they would probably start selling a DIY Hamster Cage kit just to make more money haha!

This is probably a really annoying question but: Have you separated them as they are fighting?

Someone with a small business mind and good DIY skills could make custom bin cages and sell them online but whether it would generate a lot of sales is anyone`s guess. The Bin would need to be a good size, meshed at the front preferably with a cage panel with door for access at the front and could have an internal box or shelf/ramp added. Made with the proper tools and materials, they could sell quite a lot if they were on facebook or ebay for example. Although I imagine it would be a side line rather than a full on business. If bin cages are made well, they can be a better alternative to a small shop bought cage. x
