They have now been moved!! Theodor, the victim I guess you could say, is exploring his new bin but he has loads of space to run around. No worries about toys, racinghamsters, I have so many spare toys I could fill 3 other hamster cages thanks for the little DIY toys though haha. As for Nibbles, the bully, he just went to sleep but he's awake now. I feel really bad calling Nibbles a bully though because I love him so much I found a platform that came with the original cage that I bought for them which I had taken out before and put it back in for Nibbles as it has a bit for a wheel and I forgot I had a normal dwarf wheel so he uses that. So Theodor has the flying saucer. Is it possible for me to train Theodor who doesn't have a water bottle, to drink out a water bowl?? Cause it would save me a lot of money (it's complicated to explain why). Oh and Nancy, I'm hoping that this little change will help them bond more with me because they aren't tame and are a little scared of me but hopefully they'll look for another conpanion and turn to me But thanks so much to you both! God knows what would happen if I had never separated them!! Can't thank you two enough

That`s wonderful that they now have their own space and you can relax now knowing they won`t fight. Both will settle and you can enjoy them as individuals now and if you ever lose one to old age or illness, you will still have the other and not have to worry about him being left alone. So WELL DONE!!!!!

As for the water dish, he will possibly drink from a shallow ceramic dish but you know what robos are like! he might end up paddling in it!! I would definitely get another bottle and make a bottle stand from a plastic drinks bottle. I will try and find an image for you to copy and will post later on. You just cut the top off a plastic bottle, make a hole in it for the spout to fit through and weigh it down with a large pebble, or small marble type stones or even gravel. Anything that will prevent it toppling over.

If you can, post a photo of each cage you have and we can see if any adjustments are necessary. x

Thank you for the water bottle stand ideas but the platform in one of their cages has a bit to put a water bottle in and I did buy the other a water bottle this morning and it secured to the mesh of the bin cage fine. So they have both moved in and they seem to be adjusting well. Here are some photos of both the cages. I know the second cage is a bit small but he is fine in it and I can't afford to buy/make another plus he has just been separated from his brother and I don't think I should even put him into another cage cause he would be stressed to the max. Thanks again and tell me if there is anything in the cages that I shouldn't have or anything

Thanks racinghamster! Piebald, I got my bin from Wilko for £10 I believe. It's a really good price just don't tell the employee what your using it for or else you'll get some funny looks, I know from experience haha!

That`s a good size Bin cage! Like the fact that you have added meshed panels too which really helps make it `look` like a proper cage rather than just a box! x
