Question Is my hamster sleeping too much? :-k

So I've recently adopted my hammy 3 days ago.
I was wondering if it was normal for her to sleep so much? I know that hamster's are nocternal, but even at night, she seems to sleep for 20 minutes to an hour, then wake up and get a drink of water, maybe eat a little and stuff a few treats in her cheeks, and then go back to burrying herself inside her home.

This seems to be her pattern, night or day.
Is she sleeping too much? is it because she is still trying to get use to her new home? or does something seem to be off?

When she is awake, she seems like she is starting to get use to me and her surroundings, but she still seems a tad bit nervious when i'm around, so i'm trying to give her space to de-stress.

Please let me know if she seems to be sleeping too much, or if i'm just over worrying myself!~ thank you all~

Hello Otaku108, and welcome to Hamster Central. Yup, overworrying. Everything is new to her and staying in her hidey feels safer for her right now. Little by little she'll get used to everything and will start to come out more. Give her time. Most hammies take a week or two to settle in. Some hammies get comfortable sooner, and some take even longer. Just have patience and let her decide the pace. While you are waiting for her to get braver browse all the info here on the site.

Hi Otaku - I got my Hammy last Sunday and she sleeps so much. She's like me in hamster form. I was so worried to begin with but, through hours of over-worried mummy research, I discovered it's natural for new hamsters to do that. In fact some hamsters are just lazy by nature and can just sleep. Like DrK says, she feels safer in her house right now because you're big and new and scary. Mine is still doing that after being awake for 6 hours yesterday evening.
