Default Robo with long nails

Hi everyone, I was giving my little robo Loki a check over just now and noticed his nails are getting quite long. He has always had a sand bath in his cage which he burrows in so I assumed that would keep his nails short. What can I add to the cage or do to try and solve the problem?

Hope someone can help with advice. I have already mentioned the idea of a rock from the reptile section in the pet shop. However having looked after Loki recently I know his water bottle is too low down to get a rock under the spout as many do for the bigger hammies.
Is it enough just to have the rock in the cage to run over?

A sand bath isn't really enough, include as many rough surfaces a you can in the cage, wood, unglazed terracotta pots or saucers, cleaned stones, some of the little reptiles hides or dishes although made of resin have a stone like texture, you can also try giving them a little box (I use an egg box) lined with sand paper & hide treats or food in there to encourage them to dig around.
In spite of all that some hams nails still seem to grow long & may need clipping.

Thanks for the advice! I have lined a cardboard tube with sandpaper for tonight and will buy some rocks from my local pet shop tomorrow.

I've got this square of rough granite under the water bottle but you could maybe put it under the food bowl if it won't fit under the water bottle. It's not expensive (about £1.50) but the postage adds about £7. I really like it though!

I was about to mention rocks, I've read many pages that tell me they're the way to go
