Default Prayers for my baby boy Ollie.

Hi guys I'm so sad and upset for my baby boy Ollie. I have just returned from two weeks holiday, I left Willow with my Mum & Dad and my friend who is quite confident with Hamsters looked after Ollie. I blame myself and I can't believe how stupid I have been, Ollie is a lively little thing and when he wanted out he lets you know, however I would sometimes place a small tea towel over a small gap to stop him from hurting himself. However while I have been away my little man has been chewing and has digested some of the towel and is very noticeably bloated, not as active and struggling to run. My other half and I have rushed him round to the vets tonight and the vet confirmed my worst fears. He is currently at the vets having medication to try to ease his bloated stomach but don't know if it will work or not, operating isn't an option. I'm so scared for my little Ollie I feel responsible and hoping he is going to pull through.

Oh poor little Ollie, I'm so sorry. Fingers crossed the vet can help him out. At least a tea towel is cotton and not some other awful kind of thing. Why isn't operating an option? Does the vet think that wouldn't work?

Thank you guys, the vet says he wouldn't pull through surgery and are giving him medication tonight to see if it works I will find out tomorrow. I'm so upset I really can't lose him he is such a sweet little guy who sits on my shoulder and tickles my face with his whiskers. I have two perfect little Hams and it will break my heart if I lose one of them

I will keep you posted

Thank you xxxx I'm so worried for him and very upset, does anyone know if Hamsters can survive this kind of thing? I phoned my friend, who was taking care of him whilst I was away, last night to let her know what's happened and to also say that she is not to blame I was the one who advised her to use the tea towel and now feel guilty, responsible and foolish, needless to say she is devastated. She did advise me that one night when she woke up the next morning Ollie had managed to pull the whole towel into his cage. The towel was badly chewed up with most of it on the bottom of his cage, she removed most of the cloth and never used it again so I'm hoping that he has not injested as much as we think and the vet advised me by telephone that the x ray was inconclusive, I'm hoping with all my heart that he pulls through.
