Default Robo Health Q's

HI! So I'm brand new to robo hamsters, my mom brought me home a robo hammie yesterday as a surprise. (She adopted it from a student in her class)
I have a few basic questions about robo health care!

1. Are robo's prone to diabetes?
2. What is a safe treat for robos?
3. I think my robo is underweight, How do I know for sure?
4. Is it safe to handle robos after they have the week to settle?
5. How do you sex a robo?
6. My room is set to 71 (Fahrenheit) for my syrian, is that too warm or cold for the tiny robo?
7. I have aspen bedding, is that okay?

Let me know if there is anything else I should be aware of! THANKS!

I have had Robo's for several years so I will answer as best I can.

1. No robo's are not prone to diabetes.
2. Robo's go crazy for sesame seeds all of mine have anyhow
3. hard to say as they can be tiny little things or not
4. Robo's are EXTREMLY fast and agile, if you are going to try to handle them
make sure you have containment and are close to the floor or bottom of the container so the do not fall, robo's do not sit still.
5. look at their bum if its a male you will be able to see his testicles easily enough.
6. the room temp is fine
7. Aspen bedding is ok also just not pine or cedar

you are welcome, I would recommend making a playpen for robo's so you can interact with them. as they love to run about and investigate things

Good answers phinox, especially regarding keeping any handling (if any) to a minimum and making sure s/he isn`t dropped or stressed by trying to handle too much. Robos should have a decent sized cage ( similar to a Zoozone 1 size) with a good solid wheel and they will entertain themselves. I never got my robos out on the floor because they had enough room in their cages to run about, but it depends on how easy yours is to handle or if s/he wants handled/played with.

Diet should be a good quality hamster mix with good variety and break up any large biscuits withing the mix as robos preder to eat small seeds and flaked grains. You can add budgie seed millet and buy a bag of millet spray and break pieces off as an extra treat. Make sure the water bottle is low for easy reach. x
