Re: Cancer maybe?
You've done such a brilliant job with Chester, spoil him even more in the remaining days you have with him and remember all the happy times you both shared.

Re: Cancer maybe?
I'm so sorry to hear this about Chester.
I too, had a hamster that had large tumors. They grew large very quickly. One was located on her chest, the other on her side. I took her to the vet, as soon as I noticed them. The vet said most likely they were cancerous, even if they were removed, they would grow back.
My hamster was a dwarf. She was in pain. Didn't want to be touched, and slept most of the time, only to come out of her nest to eat and drink.
She also had lost fur on 1 side of her body.
I chose to help her cross the bridge, due to the vet said, she was in pain and had very little quality of life, and it was only a matter of time.. I could not bare the fact she was in pain.. X

Re: Cancer maybe?
Unfortunately I spoke too soon yesterday, I woke up to find he'd passed away. He did look very peaceful though and I'm sure he'll be happy in the wodent wheel in the sky.

Re: Cancer maybe?
I am sorry you've lost him Mandi4Hams, although there is also relief that he's now out of pain and free at the Bridge. It is so sad to see hamsters I've known here on HC for so long pass away. Play Well Chester. You'll be missed.

Re: Cancer maybe?
Thanks <3 obviously I never wanted him to go and have been very upset but it was definitely time...
I can't get another hamster for a few years as I'll be travelling in about a year so it's really going to leave a massive hole in my life.
No one outside of this forum really understands but I'm happy for Chester and am grateful he looked after me for the past 3 years
