The vet I seen is usually pretty good and upbeat, she helped me when Mallow basically got breast cancer but yesterday she just basically said she'll die whatever we do.
I'm booked in tonight to review her antibiotics but is with a different vet so maybe I'll see what he has to say.

I just wanted to say what a horrible and stupid thing that was for that particular Vet to say! You could say that to any human being - you'll die one day anyway so why bother treating you! Which of course would be totally unacceptable as there is a requirement to try under hippocratic oath for Doctors - and your hammy is only 8 months old.
Anyway - the diarrhoea is probably after all the laxatives. Maybe you could leave veg out for a bit and see if it hardens up a bit (not too much anyway). I think watery foods like cucumber, whilst being good for hydration, can also encourage looser poo, as does any kind of roughage or fibre like vegetables (I'm only going by human stuff here). As long as she is drinking plenty of water that's the main thing. Our supermarket sells those little packets of fresh coconut pieces on the stand with the mini fruit salads and I sometimes get those because I like them and Charlie likes them. I just remember that coconut milk is excellent for diarrhoea - I had it very badly a couple of years ago and lost a stone in a week. In the end I just drank coconut milk and tomato juice - both of which are bowel tonics for a few days and then I was able to start eating again and the diarrhoea stopped. Not tomato juice for hamsters though. Fresh coconut should have some of the coconut milk in the flesh and I'm sure she would love a piece of coconut!
Egg is also a binder (and can bung people up if they have too much) as is banana, so maybe give her a bit of scrambled egg. Obviously not too many binding things as you don't want her bunged up again but it would be good to stop the diarrhoea.
The human diarrhoea diet is the BRAT diet - Banana, Rice, Apples Toast (I add banana to that as well). So any of those things won't cause diarrhoea. Dry biscuit or boiled rice or a piece of apple.
Obviously I don't know if hammy digestive systems work the same way, but it seems common sense to try slightly binding foods.
If you are still syringe feeding then a wee bit of baby apple puree might be good.
Anyway glad to hear she is more herself. I think I'd be more concerned by diarrhoea than constipation, but hopefully her balance will come back.
