Neck Swelling? Help!
I've just noticed my hammy Attila has a swollen neck? His eyes also seem squinty but that might just be sticky eye since he's fairly prone to that (he is 2 years).
I'm worried that this is an impacted cheek pouch, and if it is, will treating him In his old age be potentially dangerous?
I'm so concerned for him! If it is an impacted cheek pouch I think it might be from when I was wearing a fabric plaster/bandaid abc he tried to chew on it a bit, does that sound likely?
Thank you for any help!

Re: Neck Swelling? Help!
Hi Varx. At his age and showing suspicious symptoms of swelling or illness, I would really recommend you have his checked over by a vet. This will give you peace of mind and if the vet does find something amiss, then you can have it seen to before it becomes more problematic. It may be a pouch impaction which a vet can flush out. It may be something else. The main thing is not make sure Atilla is not in any discomfort. x

Re: Neck Swelling? Help!
I've ordered him a carrier so when that comes tomorrow we're gonna go straight to the vets!
He's still moving, eating and drinking fine and doesn't wriggle too much if I try to touch the swelling so I think he's not too unhappy, but yes of course vets asap! Thank you

I hope it`s nothing to worry about but hopefully the vet can ease things for him. x

Good to hear he's eating and drinking fine. The vet will be able to tell you more. Good Luck!
