Default Strange ear?

Hi, I just got my new make syrian about 2 weeks ago, he is 10 weeks old now, he seems in good health, the problem I have is that one of his ears is very small and a strange shape. One ear is normal and the other is not. I have searched online but can't see anything regarding this? None of my previous hamsters have had this problem. It's not bothering him. Thanks.

It's not easy to see in the photo really but as long as he seems healthy enough & the ear isn't bothering him at all I would guess that either he was born with a deformed ear or he may have been injured at some point & the ear has failed to grow normally after that.
He looks very cute btw!

As said already above, I think he could have either been born like it, or it was damaged while still with his mum and siblings. If it doesn't seem to bother him then just accept it as his little quirk.

Thanks for the replys. I quite like his little ear, was just worried it could mean there was something wrong, it looks like a normal sort of shape, just very very small haha. So I'm thinking he's just been born like that. Thanks for the reassurance!

If I were you, I'd have called him Nemo, for his smaller than average "lucky" ear. XD

Mega, it would seem very appropriate

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'd have called him Van Gough.
He's so sweet, having the little ear makes him unique.
What have you called him?
