Pink lump near anus?

We noticed Charlie seems to have a sort of pink protrusion or lump near his anus tonight. I noticed it before, then it seemed to have gone, and then tonight it was there again. Or am I being dense and it is part of his male parts or something?!

Could it be his penis? I know they're usually retracted but a couple months ago my Syrain gave me quite a scare with his but its not been out since and he's well. Has anything changed in the room where he is? Like temperature? Hopefully more people will be able to help.

Will try and get a photo next time! I'm assuming the little hole right near the back underneath is his anus and the pink lump (about the size of a pea) is directly in front of it.

Just checked out diagrams of genitalia. The round pink lump is where his penis should be I think but doesn't look like a penis. Either that or it's between anus and penis (sorry to be so graphic!)

Hamsters do grow large testicles when matured (pea size sounds right), tho you'd obviously expect to see 2... Is this a young ham?

I think he's about 8 months old. Wouldn't testicles be hairy?

Could it be a prolapse? My friends male hamster has just had an op for that.

No Serendipity. When a hammy gets warm, either from sleeping all curled up, temperature rises or exercising, his testicles will pop out, sometimes quite a bit. They will look like smooth pink balls sort of popping out of the sack.

Ok. Thanks! Sounds like it is his testicles then! The fact that is disappears again suggests that too, but I'll keep an eye on it.
