Harry the Hamster food?

I recently bought some Harry Hamster complete muesli and i was wondering if its good for dwarf hamster? i got it pretty cheap , £1.80 for 700g , so its not like im losing lots of money from buying this. I have heard i should add some oats as it can battle wet tail? Thanks for reading

Dwarfs don't get wet tail so no need to worry about that.
Harry Hamster is ok to give to dwarfs but I find mine do better on a mix specifically for dwarfs like Burgess supa dwarf hamster harvest.

What kind of dwarf? If pedigree Winter White or Roborovski, then it's fine. If Campbells, Chinese or hybrid (any petshop-bought dwarf/any dwarf that doesn't have a pedigree is classed as a hybrid), then it's fine, but you'll need to remove the corn, cornflakes and peaflakes, as they're high in sugar and may contribute to your ham developing diabetes. You will also was to supplement the muesli with extra protein and fibre, like mealworms/egg/plain chicken, and granary or wholemeal bread/oats/wheat. ("Wholefoods Quickcook Seven Grains" is something I now add to my minihams' bowls). Millet is also a good addition to the foodbowl for all hams. X3

Sorry to disagree but it really isn't recommended to remove things from the mix, I know people used to suggest doing that but it does unbalance the overall nutrition so unless they are actually diabetic rather than a diabetes prone species the amount of corn & peas in the mix is normally ok.

Thanks it will be a robo or a campbell so i guess im fine Ill be sure to pick up some mealworms and millet for her/his food bowl.Thanks for the help

Perhaps i could take only a few out? leaving a couple in but not a whole bowl full I will look around too see if there is a brand i can get hold of that is completely safe but for now harry it is. Thanks for all your help

I don't think the perfect food exists yet but this is another one my dwarfs seem to enjoy & do well on JR Farm Feast for Dwarf Hamsters. Free P&P on orders £29+ at zooplus!
If you get mealworms you need to look for freeze dried, a lot of the ones sold for birds are deep fried so not so good for hams!
Millet is always a big hit, I'm sure your ham will love that!

What type of millet do you use? im not too sure what it looks like so ill have to do some research

I just grabbed a large bag of white millet from my local small pet store. If you google it/use the search engine of your choice, you'll get a clear idea of how it looks. It's usually included in/is considered bird food, but hammies love the stuff for some reason. XD You'll want to get some kind of secure container to put it in, as the tiny seeds can go everywhere.
