Default Hybrid hamster weight

Was just wondering if my hamsters seem like a good weight. I had a read through the weight thread but couldn't find anyone putting weights of young hybrids. I am assuming mine are hybrids as was just labelled Russian dwarfs in pet shop

Amy Rose the red eyed one weights 26g
Shadow is the black eyed one and weighs 34g

They are both about 7/8 weeks old.

Hi.
They seem like good weights to me. I think with Hybrids they can vary so much in size that there is no set weight so to speak. I would say as long as they are healtht and happy its all that matters.

I have two Hybrids both Rescues so unsure on exact age. But i'm guessing Boo is around 5 months and is 39g. (She is shaped more like Amy rose)She is quite long and slender. Winnie is much smaller but alot chunkier she weighs 45g. Not sure on her age as they didn't have a clue.

Thank you. Yes Amy is much more slender, shadow already feels like a little chubbster. They are both active though and eat and drink plenty x

My best suggestion is to start keeping a log of their weights and measure their weights against themselves. Since they're still growing it'll obviously go up, but settle out around six months or so. Then if their weight suddenly drops or spikes you'll know. We keep excel files with all our hamster weights with a graph that updated automatically so we can keep track.

Sorry to come back to such an old post. The vet told me that my 6 months old hybrid is overweight at 46 grams is it true?

I wouldn't think so, their weight does vary a lot but as long as your ham has a healthy diet & general condition is good I wouldn't worry.

That would make my 67g Hybrid Percy obese. Nah, i don't think your hamster is overweight at 46g.

And nor do I! My hybrid boo is 64g and runs like a demon for hours on his wheel at night etc. They are all different and so long as they appear healthy then I think that’s ok x
