Just as active as normal and is eating but her lungs look like she is breathing at far too fast a rate?

Re: Puddle really fast breathing
Is she breathing father than she usually does for sure or is it that you've noticed that she breathes quickly? If that makes sense... They do breath really fast.
Is it warmer than usual where her cage is? Has anything changed? Have any chemicals, scented candles etc been used near her cage or in the same room?

Re: Puddle really fast breathing
Yeah, vet would be best if there's no obvious outside cause. How old is Puddle?

Re: Puddle really fast breathing
We're not sure as she was returned twice cos she bit people, so we adopted her and tamed her. She seems unsteady on feet too

Vet asap. Respiratory problems happen so fast.

Re: Puddle really fast breathing
Got her in vets this afternoon.
She is still running about and eating and drinking etc but suddenly looks very old like old age has suddenly crept up on her. Although maybe just cos she not cleaning herself as much as normal cos she poorly.
Strange thing iv noticed is she is suddenly almost attacking food. I put a bit of sweet corn next to her bed and she smelt it and then pounced on it, she also suddenly attacked her water bottle.
Not sure why?

Re: Puddle really fast breathing
50/50 whether to put her down or try anti biotics.
I couldn't do it so am trying her on anti biotics for a few days.
I reckon she is only about 14 months old, she is still eating and drinking and comes to see me when I approach her cage. But then her balance ain't great, fast breathing and sometimes looks really poorly but then the next day looks fit as a fiddle. She is thinking she may have an inner ear infection or possibly had a stroke or have a brain disorder. She has always been an odd one with odd behaviour liking falling over for no reason etc. At the moment she is attacking her tissue every time it touches her face and I put a water bowl near her but she just attacks the side yet never bit the vet once and she had her crawling on her hands etc
She didn't like being handled by the vet and it tired and stressed her out so she is having a nap after I fed her her anti biotics.
If she stops eating and drinking or gets any worse il have her put down but for now I think I did the right thing. Just.
I think.

Re: Puddle really fast breathing
If she is still doing all her normal hamstery things she might be ok. I hope the antibiotics help. Xx
