For what purpose? Just to hang out? Or like on the way to somewhere?

You can absolutely take your hamster outside if you are transporting him somewhere else, but I think if it is just to hang out outside then you'll get mixed opinion. I think it can be alright, but you need to make sure it isn't too hot or cold, avoid direct sunlight, make sure the area you have him in isn't noisy or generally scary, and make sure that the grass hasn't had chemicals applied to it.

I have taken my Syrian Sirius outside once, last summer. if you do take your hammy outside you need to ensure that the area/grass hasn't had any chemicals on it (weed killer, feed etc), of course not if it is too cold or too hot. Ensure that the hamster is safe from overhead predators like birds of prey, plus you are best to have some sort of enclosure/pen for him/her to stay in so they can't run off, take a water bottle/shallow bowl of water out for hammy. lastly don't have them outside too long esp if it is warm.

Here are some things to watch out for when taking your hamster outside..
- Grass is safe, no bugs or chemicals
- No birds or predators to your hamster
- Not to cold or hot, no wind
- use a play pen
- NEVER take your eyes of your hamster while outside
- Be sure to look for fleas, ticks, mites, etc while bringing them inside

I brought mine outside last summer and they had a great time, Silvermist especially enjoyed it. She only went in the garden on the grass though as I know what we put down, no weed killer or sprays. Just water and occasionally liquid flower food for the brighter flowers. But nothing on the grass, we only have a small garden so it was easy to follow her (i crawled). Keeping a close eye on the gate as the estate has alot of cats!

I take Colby Jack out often, he loves it. Just in our yard or in the road in his ball though. I'd never take a dwarf, they're so crazy and small
