Default How long?

I have a long haired Syrian hamster that's four weeks away from his 3rd birthday,he has unfortunately been going downhill since Xmas, over the last couple of weeks he has stopped eating his dry mix and only eats soft food such as boiled veg, fruit and pasta,he drinks hardly anything never opens his eyes and tumbles over when he walks, have any of you got any ideas so I can make him more comfortable in what must be his last few days or hopefully weeks,I don,t want him suffering, thank you.

Make his cage nice and flat-no levels climbing toys etc.
Feed him soft foods and set his water bottle close to his nest. Don't do full cleanouts as much and give him extra treats and cuddles.

ChocolateCream81 gave some great advice
I recently lost my long-haired gentleman, and it really is about keeping them most comfortable.
Definitely keep him warm...adding to the soft foods, maybe try some baby food? I usually have some kind of organic chicken one for them, just look for no onioin/garlic of course!
Also check the condition of his nails/eyes/teeth, make sure the teeth and eyes are not overgrown as if he is less active, this may be the case and you could wash a rock thoroughly and place it under his water bottle so he may use it. You may find that him sleeping a lot also means he builds up a bit of stuff under his eye, which you can gently wipe off with a cotton bud and a bit of warm water
A nice simple cage set up will be good as well! Remove anything he could tumble off and keep it as a nice usual layout, with a good thick layer of bedding and extra so he keeps nice and warm.

All the above applies. An elderly hamster can hang in there for a surprisingly long time. They become very frail and, as you noted, stumble about. It can be hard to watch. Just talk to him and love him. You want to make his last days peaceful. Hugs to you and {soft hammy pats} to your little man.
