It's Loxicom but from reading online most pets like the taste as it is sweet so probably a very similar thing.

She seems to be walking a bit better. However, when I was handling her today she smelt an awful lot like wee!

Re: Syrian With a Fractured Leg. Did I make the right decision?
She may be in some pain and not able to get to her corner to wee. She also maybe cannot stand properly to lift her rump as normal and is dragging her tummy in it once she has wee'd There could also be some nerve damage and she has lost control of her bladder. This can result in her getting very sore with the urine on the skin so I would try and clean her up using a damp cotton ball or some sensitive skin baby wipes. Pat dry with a tissue.
She may improve as her foot heals so I'd give it some time yet with cleaning her up. If she smells bad it may also be a bladder infection in which case she would need some antibiotics.

I worked out what was causing it. She had been wetting the bed. I suspected this was because her food bowl was in the equivalent of her toilet corner in her old cage. I moved things around and now a few days on and now wee smell so all seems good again.

Good thank you. Her foot still feels warm and she is walking around a bit better.

She is now walking on her leg. It is pointing inwards a bit but she is using it instead of dragging it behind her.

Re: Syrian With a Fractured Leg. Did I make the right decision?
You absolutely did the right thing! Small rodents tend to heal rather nicely from leg breaks. All the things you did for her were great. The idea is to keep her from climbing and using her leg too much. You did all of that. She'll heal and it will be as if it never happened. I'd let her be and not handle her much for at least the first 2 weeks.

Re: Syrian With a Fractured Leg. Did I make the right decision?
The link below is one of my favorite little hams who broke his leg and came home with a splint that totally cracked me up. He took it off, but healed fine. Hobbes is at the Vets broken leg :(

Well she seems to be back to her old self. Walking around fine and everything. I'll hold of putting her back in her proper setup for a few weeks just to be on the safe side.
