It is awful to loose this kind of battle but your fluff hopefully in better place and running along at rainbow bridge.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you all so much for all of your help and advice. She was getting worse so took to a different (proper) vet for a second opinion and he recommended to put Poppy to sleep and it was very unlikely that she would recover from the stage of the disease she was at. We said goodbye to her yesterday and bought a special decoration for the tree in memory. Very very sad but am relieved she is at peace and not in pain anymore
Thank you all again, I just hope that my other four hamsters (all seperate cages and rooms) never have to suffer that way, but if they do I will be prepared

PS...we lost Chewy only 4months old syrian to wet tail and it is heartbreaking, understand your heartache. We now have a very healthy Syrian called Apollo...from a breeder doing daily checks on him and so far is strong and healthy.

So sorry for your loss I know what your going through wet tail is devastating my Buttons died of it, he was two years old and was a little fighter, I was taking him back and fourth to the vets for about 2 months, but in the end they said there was nothing more they could do for him and so put him to sleep, absolutely heartbreaking.

My sincere sympathy for your loss. Wet tail is a rotten disease and it is very hard to know when to give up. But the fight is always worth it as we never know which hammy will survive and we always want to do our best for them. You know you did your best for Poppy. Play well at the Bridge little lady .
