Bloody Urine or Red Urine - Worried
I have a 10 week old syrian hamster. and today i checked on her and some tissue looks like theres blood urine all over it.
she's still a nervous hamster. probably the most nervous hamster i've ever had.
she's frightened of everything. i put some toys in her cage yesterday and she ran around for her life. she fully jumped into the air out of fright yesterday.
haven't had much time to handle her much yet or been around her. but I'm always talking to her when im around.

Re: Bloody Urine or Red Urine - Worried
If it is definitely blood then it is best to have a vet check her out. She could have done something like twanged a tooth, bitten her tongue or pulled a nail that has caused the blood however there may be something else amiss like bleeding from the bowel, female vent or bladder.
Has she any red biscuits at all? Sometimes if they get wet they can look like blood. Check her underneath for any sign of diarrhoea or discharge from anywhere and cuts of bruises. Sometimes this is easier by herding her in to a clear jar or glass so you can look through the glass at her underside.
Work hard on the taming as her life will be so much richer if you tame her up. It may take longer with this nervous little one but I'm sure you can do it. Get her health sorted first and then you can proceed in confidence.
I hope she is OK x

Re: Bloody Urine or Red Urine - Worried
You need to call the vet and have her seen. Only a vet can tell for sure what's going on with your Little one. Baby hamsters can get ill really quick so getting them to the vet fast is important. Hope she's okay.

Re: Bloody Urine or Red Urine - Worried
I would get a vet appointment it may be an infection, the vets may try and ask you to get a urine sample which you can so by putting her in a plastic container or jar she can't climb out of and eventually she will go I use a syringe to suck the urine up or you can put it in a small container and take it with you they can then test the urine
