Question Hamster has a wet bum....but no diarrhea. Please help!!

My Syrian has a wet tail/bum area, but her poops are solid, she's eating and drinking normally, she isn't lethargic and has tons of energy. Could there be another reason why her bum is wet and matted down? I originally thought it was wet tail, so I put her on a pedialyte/water mixture and plain yogurt for 24 hours. Then I followed that up with Timothy hay to regulate her digestive tract. Now, she's back on her regular food (Oxbow Healthy Handfuls) and regular water. Her appetite is normal and she is acting like herself! What could be the reason for her wet bum? I'm very worried because I love my Minnie girl very much. I've done everything I can think of, and I wipe the area clean every night when she wakes up. She doesn't protest and immediately returns to playing or eating when I'm done. So why else could her bum be wet? Any suggestions/help would be appreciated!!!

I'm not sure but it doesn't sound like wet tail as she's eating drinking pooping and playing as normal. I've heard of this happening for a couple of days but if it persists I'd be talking to a vet for advice, although you've done the right thinh coming on here as I'm sure somebody will have had experience of this and can advise. Hope she's ok, try not to fret.

It could just be her normal cyclic discharge as she goes through her 4 days cycle. Does it smell a bit like twiglets? Some hamsters have more discharge when they are in heat and it can vary from whiteish to clear and mucusy. As long as it is not foul smelling or brownish or blood stained it sounds normal however if it does not seem quite right then see a vet. It should not be constantly profuse or yellowy and pus like either and this could mean an infection so monitor how she is over her cycle.
