Thumbs down Poorly old hamster

My hamster is 3 years old in November and after recovering from a suspected stroke in February he has now become poorly again but with different symptoms.

My hamster is usually very active but now he doesn't want to do much and he would rather lie down. He will get up and walk now and again but I have noticed that when he is asleep he breathes extremely fast. He is having around 166 resps a minute. We also noticed his face seemed swelled a few days ago and one of his cheeks was swollen. Now the skin seems baggy and he has a hunched back more than usual.

He has all his things on the bottom shelf. Currently asleep in the corner. He doesn't want to be stroked near his cheeks. It isn't possible to see a bet until morning.

He's very, very old. He needs to see a vet and be cared for. He may have had an abscess that burst and could have an infection.

DrKMcK That wold make sence. if it was earlier an shops were open id of advised to get some baby food(free of garlic onions and leeks) as they are easier on sore hammie faces and very nutricious. just incase he wwanted something to eat.
