Suspecting pyometra
I've been following gutterglitterxx post about Cheeto (hope she'll be fine really soon!!)
And I am now suspecting Caramel might have pyo too, a closed one . I absolutely hope it isn't. She's a dwarf and I heard it's rare to be happening to a dwarf. She's always been chubby, but now her tummy looks like she's pregnant. Which I highly doubt she is. Now I'm scared to think about it
I'd take her to a vet, but I can't really trust my last vet. The one where I took Cil for her tumor, but the vet carelessly said its Cil's testicles. I immediately pointed to her Cil's a female. Then she began to examine the lump. I was kinda upset by the way she judged at first. I wanna try another vet, but I can't just take Caramel to some random vet. Arrr I'm so confused...
Anyway Caramel's still herself, active as she could be. She doesn't seem lethargic. Can it be the sign of pyometra?

Re: Suspecting pyometra
You definitely need to find a new vet. A good way to judge vets, ring a few up, describe your concerns, and write down their replies. Then, after, you can read what they said and make an appointment with the one you are happiest with? You'll probs want to go with one that asks all the symtoms, her age, type, etc. And also ask what their course of action would be if it were pyo. Generally the only 'proper' cure is a spay, although sometimes Baytril is prescribed.

Re: Suspecting pyometra
Yeah, I really should try that. I'm just a bit busy these days, I hope I can find the time soon. The vets here mostly just do dogs and cats. csockman once listed me vets around my area. I'll try to contact them again soon. My mom already told me not to worry too much and that the trip to the vet may not be really worth it considering the quality of the vets. I just dont wanna argue with her. But I'll still try my best for Caramel.

Oh I hope Caramel is okay. I wish I had more to offer but this experience with Cheeto is very new for me. She is otherwise seemingly healthy, not lethargic at all. Best wishes to Caramel. xx

Unfortunately you'll just have to try and find another vet. Some vets can be pretty bad (the first we tried didn't know what a roborovski dwarf hamster was so strangely enough never saw any of our lot lol) but our current practice is great

I live in Jakarta, the capital city It sounds so bad having to live in a big city with no such qualified vet for a ham. Ermm no! There must be at least a good one near my area!! *sending myself positive vibes*

Re: Suspecting pyometra
Is it coincidence?? (Well, maybe not really)
Actually I just got home from the vet and.... I went to that one you linked. The first one. I didn't meet Drh. Yulyani herself, it was her partner. I'll post about the vet trip in a bit (Soo hungry and it's already past dinner time )
And thanks again for the link, I bookmarked the second one, just in case
