Default Hamsters with colds

Hi

I've had a rotten cold over the last week and I think my little Russian hybrid has caught it now (if that's possible). She has been sneezing or coughing and seems to be wheezing a little. So difficult to tell in something so small.

I've given her some cold milk and am keeping her warm by turning the room temperature up.

She is in the same room (but at the opposite end) as my Syrian hamster. Should I move her to another room to minimise the risk of her infecting Ollie?

Does anyone know of any foods or drink I should give to help her overcome this please?

She might need a vets trip and some Baytril - respiratory infections can consume little hammys, so keep her warm, keep a close eye on her and maybe book an appointment. if she picks up before the appointment you can always cancel.

My hybrid had a respiratory infection and you couldn't always hear snuffling, it was only when the vet listened to his lungs that she heard how congested he was. It took about 3 weeks of Baytril to kick it.

It is infectious, so be careful to wash hands between handling etc. If you can move rooms with little disruption, you can.

Thanks for this Jesselle. Ollie has a skin allergy and has to go back to the vet anyway so I'll just take Titch with me and keep them in separate rooms for now.
