Is Charlie overweight?

Hi all,

I am hoping to enter Charlie in a show in Febuary, so I am weighing her, and I am afraid she may be a little on the chubby side!

Charlie weighs 192g.
Here is a piccy:



I would appreciate some advice or opinions, as my dad thinks she is 'morbidly obese!' and its got me a little worried!!

Check out my thread (Syrian Hamster Weight) in the Healthcare section and you'll see that Charlie is a perfectly normal weight, she does look on the larger side of normal but she is certainly not morbidly obese! Females also tend to be heavier than males so I would not worry!

thanks, I'm just concerned the judges will assume she is overwieght because of how she looks

I thought Minnie was a bit fat and then she got 4th place in a class of 15... so xD

Akiko is huge - last time she was weighed she was 250g - and came second in the same show, so I think as long as they are healthy and chubby it's fine

She looks absolutely fine to me - Judges can easily tell a fat hamster from a large hamster. They should be large for showing and that weight is about average for a female show syrian
