Im about to take in a russian hammy who has lost her paw. She got it stuck and had it removed as it wouldnt heal. She is still mobile and can get about and is ok on a wheel, but what toys would be best for her? I will keep her on a single level cage but what toys are less likely for her to get caught in again? Would it be best to get her a wodent wheel? so that if she slips or looses her balance she wont fall off? Or best for an open one so if she falls she will fall out and not spin round? obviously putting a lot of substrate to cushion her. The wound has now healed and vet has said she is all ok and said just change to what she needs and not restrict her too much. What toys are good and entertaining so that she doesnt need to climb? She is ok with ramps but doesn't have full use of her front leg due to the missing paw so cant use ladders. I will have her in a tank style cage so she has no bars to climb on and get stuck in. Any suggestions? She is in a duna at the moment and uses the wheel that comes with it fine and no problems, but Im not keen on those wheels. Any suggestions?

I don't really have any advice to offer but I just wanted to say that I think it's awesome that you are taking this poor little girl in. My Cheeto has had 2 operations on her front paws for tumors and both times there was a chance she was going to lose a finger or her whole paw and I wondered what it was going to be like for her if it happened. So I really commend you for loving this very special girl. Can't wait to see her!
Thank you I'm getting her on Tuesday unless we have any more floods around here I have one picture but it's on my phone, need to work out how to get it to laptop without a cable or get a cable she is very tame and friendly and I can't wait to give her cuddles
