Syrian: audible snuffling noise?
So, Flower was up this morning and making an intermittent snuffling noise.
The video is only viewable from this link.
Normally, in order to hear her sniffing, I have to have her face right up by my ear.
This happened once before, in June (also in the morning), and I took her to the vet, where of course she did not make the noise. Her breathing, behavior and appearance were and are normal other than this, and it appears that she can stop and start the noise at will. Gave her an oat and the noise stopped. Let her explore on a table where she's normally "not allowed" and the noise stopped.
Is she wheezing? Is she mad, or happy? Does she have something stuck in a nostril? Is her sniffer working overdrive because she smells something interesting?

Darcey made this noise before. It wasn't respiratory related, in that she was snotty or blocked up - it was a chirp made alongside her breathing. She'd seem to make it when she was excited or enjoying something

Re: Syrian: audible snuffling noise?
I wonder if this means she is a "morning person," since I've only heard the noise in the morning.

Squeak makes a similar noise when she's using me as a playground. It's really cute.

Re: Syrian: audible snuffling noise?
One of my foster Syrians made a similar chirping noise - when I didn't get the treats out quickly enough, if I was looking at her but not opening the cage, when she was in the carrier and something interesting was happening outside. In other words, whenever I wasn't doing as I was told! I didn't worry as she was well in herself and only doing it in specific circumstances, unlike another squeaker I had who squeaked on exertion.

Aww that is so cute! As everyone else has said nothing to worry about. Cookie was my most vocal, he made all sorts of funny little noises. Pebbles does squeak a lot too.
