Unhappy weird abscess on my hamster's head

My hamster Chichi has a giant abscess on his head. The abscess is already as wide as his head. I already brought him to the vet and is going under treatment. Any tips on how to care for him more, besides of course what the vet advised?

P.S. i might have given him too much Antibiotics. Should I be worrying about any illness he might get? The dosage is 2x a day, should I give him another dose the next day or skip it?

If you have only given one extra dose that should not do him any harm. Is it only about 1 drop? I would continue with the dosage prescribed as long as you leave a good 8 hours between giving it.
Did the vet not consider draining and flushing the abcess? This often helps. It will like burst on it's own if it is large and will need bathing and kept open till all the pus is drained out then hopefully it will heal over.
If it looks much worse and is getting near the eye I would take him back and have it re checked.
