Post Irritated foot, update and conclusions

I made a related post back last July:
Irritated foot?

about my robo Leela, who had a sore spot with missing fur on her side/heel of one of her back feet. Since last summer, her foot has seen better days and returned back to having a small crusty blister, sometimes with old dried blood.

Basically my vet said that treatment for early stages of bumblefoot would be removing wheels for an extended period of time, so that's the only thing I can do with Leela too. Her foot has never gotten bad, nor any additional blisters appeared, but even when I took out her wheel for a few days, and her foot seemed mostly healed up (and with some application of simple vaseline-based topical antibiotic ointment), eventually Leela scuffed that spot enough for a sore to re-appear.

It was better when she lived with young Olive and Viola, and yesterday while cutting her nails, I noticed the brown crusty blister again. It goes back and forth between a crusty brownish burgundy blister and dark pink skin.

Anyway, there's pretty much nothing I can do save for keeping her without a wheel and only giving it to her periodically. She's gone through many different wheels, and there wasn't any particular kind that made it worse (all solid surface).

My plan is to just continue leaving her be as is and monitor her foot for any changes for the worse. If that does happen, I'll take out her wheel for a week or two. Anyone else has had a ham with this sort of an ongoing issue?
