Default Possible illnesses

Hi

I've noticed that my Syrian has out on 6g in about the space of a month (which I think is a lot from 146g - 152g) and has started squeaking daily. I've also just noticed a damp patch around the anus area. She's also started to get very nervous when she's out of the cage and constantly trying to escape. Sometimes she's even not interested in the food I hand feed her. I do this every day to help interaction between the two of us and to make her feel at ease with me.

I've an awful feeling this is pyometra. Any ideas anyone???

Many thanks

Emma

Emma,

I would take her to the vets asap. It sounds like this is what it could be. I really hope for your hammie & you that it isn't.

Fingers crossed

Having been to the vet it turns out I was over-reacting and there's nothing wrong with her Just to put my mind at rest they've given me antibiotics for her but I've decided to stop giving them to her.

Did they test her for pyometra then?
