Default Bleeding Eye

I am a first time poster so please excuse me for not introducing myself properly. My little hamster Bubbles is around 2 years old and this morning I noticed that she hadn't been out in the night to cause her usual mischief. I know that she is getting on and thought that maybe she was starting to shut down a little. Anyway I have been out for a few hours this evening and came back to find what looks like one eye has been bleeding. I am not sure what to do?

Hamsters that have an eye infection have a discharge from the back of the eye that does look like blood but it isn't actually so it may be this.
They can also damage the eye and even rupture the eyeball accidentally or have this caused by glaucoma however it does sound to me like she has an infection.
These are easily treated so I would see a vet. Either Maxitrol drops or Fucithalmic eye gel is usually used and work well.
Hope she is better soon.

Hi and welcome, I am no expert but please get a vets appointment as soon as possible. She might be old, but she needs her comfort. The vet could give her something to make her comfortable. Be sure to give her lots of kisses and talk to her. She might have caught her eye on something sharp and may need a cause of hammy antibiotics. x

Thank you. I have been speaking to the emergency vet and she mentioned a discharge that looks like blood but isn't. I am going to call the regular vets in the morning and take advice from them and make an appointment if they think I need to. I would rather not put her through the stress of a car trip if I can help it.
