Girls, girls... Virkon is what I always recommend after a serious illness or when dealing with quarantine situations. As a child we used Jeyes fluid, shudder!

I`ll have to ask my vet for some Virkon sachets. Can you mix up the powder, put this in a spray gun and keep it for a while? Or does it have to be used once and then discarded?

like all things it does lose its potency once mixed up so try to only make up what you will use that day, although for general cleansing purposes it will be potent for a few days, just maybe not as powerful as when completely fresh.

I noticed during one of my three visits to the vets this morning that the Virkon is £2.40 a sachet. If your vet can't get it, give me a holler and I'll send you some

Hi Guys. It sounds like something I might use to give all my cages a good thorough clean every month or so. I spot clean all the mouse and hamster cages daily and just use a pet spray, but having a sachet of Virkon would be useful to have incase I have an animal that ill.

Andrea, your a star! I don`t mind buying a sachet or two, but if you could send me one to try, I would be very greatful? I`ll PM you later on! Many thanks. x

Thanks a million Andrea. Your vet is only a 3 minute walk away? Mine is a taxi ride away! I wish my vet was closer, but I can`t complain as it`s not too far, just about four miles!
