I missed all of what went on (That was the weekend i went home!) just caught up and i just want to say that behalf of everyone im sure, we are sorry if you felt we were bullying you or discriminating. We wern't and if you scan the whole breeding section you will see that the same advice is repeated to people who appear to not be as knowledgeable as they should be before breeding. It was not a personal "attack"

By my timings you mated them around the 1st yes..so we are on the 17th so that is 16 days...how is mum doing?

yea iv still been lookin at posts and i have noticed and GOOD News!!

Milly Give Birth to her 1st baby at 9:30 16/08/10 first of all i thought she werent but i called my mam in to look at her cage to say do u think she is pregnant and during that time milly went still then started to wash herself and when she moved you could see 1 tiny pinkiy in the nest i was landed and by about half 12 last night when i looked at her she have given birth to ether 8 or 9 babies, and this moning milly is her usual healthy self and all of the babies have got all arms tail and legs and all of the eyes are really dark and the squeeking is cute and as far as im concerned she havened culled or eaten any of them, i just cant stop lookin at the cage love her and milly is fine even when she knows im there she comes to the cage expecting a treat, so i have left her alone all day now, she have got loads of food and water is topped up, i did give her some cheese which she mangled but other than that everything is grate hehe its a nice feeling, i have allready got 4 homes and some still counting im woking on the advertisement now and im going to make booklets for the people who buys the hamsters

congrats, just remember not to disturb the nest at all, even if she seems like she wants to come and greet you.

where are you based? It may be nice to offer some of the babies to HC members

Also can i suggest that when people come to take the babies (long way off i know) but you make them bring the cage with them so you can check it is suitable and large enough.

yea im going to get boxes from a petshop for when people to come and collect when the have the hamster also i have made a note on the advert that the cage have got to be a decent tidy size, like mine is a ferplast liza cage. and i have made a big note saying they must have essentials ready and that the homes have got to be a pet friendly home. i live in port talbot south wales, i will be selling the hamsters £3 to people who wants one but i do make acceptions also i have got two buyers going to a petshop with me because they have asked me to pic a cage for them because they dont know much, and also when people buy the hamsters im going to create a booklet for them on how to keep hamsters and the dos and donts too , i jus onder what colours theyr going to be

Most pet shops dont sell big cages..for exaple the cambridge. Why dont you direct your new owners over here and to the bargain cage section and suggest cages for them now so they can get it ready in prep.

Whenever i get a new ham i always take the cage with me in the car to put the box in because they often chew their way out. Also it wouldnt be hard for them to bring their cages for you to inspect.
