From looking at your picture it is possible that you have a female. Females have two lines of nipples up the sides of the body and I'm not sure if I can see some. Males however do not have nipples and their testicles are very obvious, especially in hot weather like we're having. The male has a protuding part at his rear end containing the testicles which can be about the size of a small peanut in its shell .On the forum we either use the biological name of testicles or 'pompoms'! The female has a rather blunt rounded rear end and the openings are close together if you look underneath. The males vents are about a cm apart. Females also have a distinctive smell, especially when they are coming into season, which happens every fourth night. They will stand very still with their tail in the air if you rub their rump, but if your's is a female it may not do this as it can't smell a male.

Here is what a male ham's testicles look like:

Here is a female standing when she is in season:

I just wanted to say that after watching that short video clip of Hammis making a nest I was able to get a clear look at your hams rear end. With out a doubt in my mind Hammis is definitely a female!

Here is a link to that thread if anyone else wished to offer an opinion. But Im certain hammis is a she-ham

I have viewed the video and yes Hammis does look like a female though in a young animal the testicles are not so obvious so if it is an old video they could be hidden. With babies it can be more difficult and it is very common for pet shops to get the sex wrong. From the pics on the link what do you think now minicooper? Either was Hammis is lovely and the name is unisex no no problems there. If you blow the tummy fur can you see the rows of nipples? If so Hammis is definitely a female. I think I can see them in the standing up pic but can't be sure.

Yes he must be a female, but why did the pet owner say that my hammis was a male because if i did some breeding and got another female I would have 2 females.

I am still unsure but with get some pics of hammis underneath tomorrow and show you to see your last thoughts.

thank you for your help
