Hamsters Eyes?

Really stupid question, but im jst wondering, how do hamsters eyes work?

I'm thinkin they have some sort of extra protection lense over there eye than humans, ive noticed they dont blink and when i see my hamster has sawdust on the centre of her eye, she doesnt seem to be bothered, and wipes it off when she can be botherd!

Hamster eyes function just the same as any mammal's eyes though they are not as sensitive as many. Hamsters are nocturnal and reley much more on their sense of smell, touch (whiskers) and hearing than their eyesight. They do notice the sawdust but can usually wash it out quite easily with their paws due to the shape of the eye.

I also think its amazing that they dont blink. But they look so cute when they sleep and have their eyes closed.

But also they look really horrible when their eyes are stuck and they cant open them, when they are sick. Its really sad.

So... for bright shiny cute open eyes!

Hmm my hamster winks only when i blow his nose when he starts biting the cage (anyway its his way of begging for food).
