Default Are dwarf hamsters less popular than Syrians?

Are russian dwarf and roborovski hamsters less popular than Syrian hamsters?

A lot of hamster content I follow features mainly Syrian hamsters.

I just wonder if they are less popular or if that's just the impression I got.

If you watch Victoria Raechel on youtube, she rated them lower than Syrian hamsters in a recent video. I was suprised.

I have a russian dwarf I think he is very sweet, his name is Fluffy.

I have noticed this too. I have a feeling it may be because they are not as easy to handle. I am yet to adopt a hamster but the ones in rescues seem to be mainly dwarf or robos.

Fluffy sounds adorable.

I think to be honest Syrians are considered the friendliest and easiest to start with. I know what you are saying though as I think all types of hamster are adorable and the love should be distributed equally <3 I personally have grown a love for Syrians though since their size makes them easier to handle and harder to lose. As a kid though I loved my Russian and robo hamsters!

I think more people do have Syrians, but personally, Russian dwarfs are my favourite hamsters.

They're still pretty common in rescues though, and I think they can sometimes be harder to find homes for. It's possible that they're more often surrendered because people find them too skittish/fast, or because people buy them in pairs and they fight.

Not sure, I was definitely all about Syrian hamsters until Ria (on here) won me over with all her rescue robos, now I have my robo Comet.
I would love to have a different type of dwarf in the future, but will always have a syrian.
I know rescues tend to struggle with finding homes for robos though (a rescue on instagram started some posts about why rescue a robo) . Syrians generally find homes quicker.
I think on Instagram there seems to be a bigger mix of all species of hamsters (maybe less Chinese) on Youtube I know I have my robo videos and Rachel got hamsters channel is all about the dwarf hamsters. but I don't know any other channel like that, a lot do seem to be more syrian based.

What do you mean by rated them lower? In what way can anybody rate a hamster species?

She did one of those meme S - F ranking videos. It's not meant to be taken seriously at all.
