Colour query
Look at the hamster in this thread - second photo down, called 'Rose'
http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/community/v ... 894#295894
What colour do you think she is? Eye rings are there but she doesn't look like the sables I've seen. Could she be sable chocolate (cream & umbrous & rust) or caramel (cream & rust)????

Rose looks like a Sable to me
Chocolate Sable is a lot lighter and Caramel is a term used to refer to Minks (Black Eyed Cream Umbrous and Cinnamon) - Caramel Mink - usually.

Just thought that i looked more orange than any of the sables ive seen - which were more grey/brown than orange/brown.
I read on the NHC website that 'caramel' is cream & rust http://www.hamsters-uk.org/modules.php? ... =72&page=1

Sables become very gingery with age and usually quite quickly which is why they have such short show lives. I love the colour and actually think the orangey bum they get is very attractive.
