I have just read this on pws forum and think that the word needs to be spread to ensure that it does not happen again.

I know most of you don't go near products such as this but just in case you know any one that does or there are people who are not aware.

Ahh ok hmm odd that it won't work.

Basically, this man has just joined PWS and his first post is that of a bedding product which is made from natural materials which is suitable for all small animals. He keeps sugar gliders (it did not state gliders on the packaging) and had a problem where a glider ended up with the bedding wrapped tightly round its ankle. He is calling for an all out ban on it and has had no joy from manufacturer and has contacted trading standards.

I have just looked for thread on pws as I can't remember what the product is called but it would appear it has been removed. It may be the moderators thought it was too harsh I don't know.

PWS is very strict about its forums, you are not allowed to post links to other websites as far as I know and you cannot quote information from any websites either, nor mention product names.. at least I dont think you cant mention product names from the best of my knowledge.. So I’m not surprised if its been removed, espcially if there was flaming. If you can remember the users name in PWS perhaps you can contact them via PM?

Unfortunately there are many bad products and many of the companies are hard to deal with. I’ve had bad experience with Hartz with some bug-infested food back on October I believe and I sent in bar codes for a refund and to this day have not received anything back. At least we can ..as the public inform people about bad products.

Yeah, a lot of the fluffy cotton wool bedding that we all dislike so much here is made from vegetable fibres so makes all these claims about being natural etc - doestn't make it any more suitable for small animals though!

Asking a manufacturer to stop making their product is never going to bring much joy!!! Interesting to see how he gets on with trading standards though.

I guess this all falls under the stuff as to "WHY" they advertise such things as CEDAR bedding for all kinds of animals. When it is a fact it is the worst thing you can have around a pet. I simply do not understand that concept. Oh by the way I just joined this forum. And I happen to come across this topic. I have several little critters. Campbells dwarfs, Syrians, Mice, parakeets, Fish, Exotic Dogs. Guess I have a basic zoo.
