I am looking to get dwarfs but I don't know which are best for a beginner who doesn't have much time

For a begginer I'm tempted to say Syrian, however as you have specified Dwarfs and you said you don't have too much time, Roborovski are brilliant for someone who wouldn't necessarily have too much time as they can basically be left to their own devices. I did have 3 which were really quite tame but I handled them daily. I couldn't guarentee that yours would be the same but I will recommend a breeder if you are to get Robos as you are more likely to get some which are quite tame.

Roborovski definitely for someone without much time to spend with them daily. These dwarf hamsters are happy to have a large varied environment and will give you hours of visual entertainment without needing much direct intervention on a daily basis. Food, water and a quick change of their sand bath is all that is required on a one or two daily basis.

Are they easy to get? I won't get them from a pet shop. I might have to wait later in the year though

I don't know breeders up north, but contacting the clubs & seeing which breeders keep robos may be a good idea. They are also getting fairly common in rescues now.

Yes Roborovski would definatly be the better choice of dwarf hamster for a begginer - I've learnt from experience and plus they are very easy to look after if you do not have much time.
I wouldn't reccomend Chinese dwarfs as they can be quite hard to tame and are very fast not to mention they're constantly after attention.
