She so cute. It sounds like she's discovered how to make the human do the hard work of hoarding and nest building for her!

Hi, everyone! I haven't posted on hamster central for a while now, as I have been pretty busy irl, but I have a few questions about my hamster that I have been bothered about, and it seemed time to ask the experts .

Muffin has really settled in well over the last two months, she is completely tame now and will even come out to say hello in the middle of the day if there is someone in the room! She is a very clean hamster as well, I haven't actually done a full cleanout on her setup at all yet simply because there is no need - she uses her toilet and keeps her entire cage spotless apart from her nest.

I have ordered a 28cm trixie wheel for her from ebay which will arrive in a week or so, thanks everyone for the advice on that.

Currently, I still feed muffin the pets at home food (mixed with a few mealworms) but I recently noticed a bit of a problem with her food habits. She doesn't seem to be interested at all in eating the large orange and light green pieces of the food, which make up at least a third of all the food in a packet. I noticed this because she was going crazy with her food bowl one morning, trying to get food out of it although there was nothing there. I checked her food storage, and it had tons of food in it, but ONLY the two pieces of food she will not eat, and it was full of them!

So what should I do about this? I can clearly see I will need to change her food because she is eating selectively from the p@h muesli, but I would prefer not to give her pellets if I can avoid it.

Another thing which could actually be related is that she loves chewing anything she can get her teeth on. She does chew the bars sometimes, but if she finds a gnaw stick in her way, well she happily chews that instead until she breaks it in half.
I think she needs something better to gnaw on though, as I have a lot of sticks and gnaw toys in her cage yet she barely touches them unless they are attached firmly to something and are easy to get her teeth into. This could become a problem as her teeth may get too long if she hasn't got something she is happy to gnaw on. Unfortunately I can't seem to find anything right for her.

Any ideas?

How about whimzees, walnuts in a shell and monkey nuts for the teeth.

If you can I would swop her to Harry Hamster food at the very least, Other Syrian food to look into are rodipet, mixerama, getzoo and bunny dreams.
