Adopting tomorrow
Hi all,
It's been so long!
Hope you are all keeping well 🙂
I haven't had a hamster in my life since my sweet Wonder sadly passed away back in march.
I saw a local posting about a young black male hamster up for adoption (an impulsive lockdown purchase that they now don't feel they can dedicate the time to) and I pick him up tomorrow.
He's currently called Spike (I'm thinking of renaming him though) and he's supposedly very shy (previous owner has not tamed him) so I might have a bit of a challenge on my hands but I can't wait to meet him ☺️
I'll be sure to update you soon.

Re: Adopting tomorrow
Congrats on finding a ham to give a loving forever home to, look forward to seeing some photos & hearing about him once he comes home & settles in, I’ve always had a soft spot for black hams!

Re: Adopting tomorrow
Congratulations! Looking forward to see photos of your new hamster and an introduction once you've decided on a name.

Re: Adopting tomorrow
Thank you Cypher and Ria.
Can't wait to snap some photos once he's settled in.
I haven't really seen him properly yet but I can't imagine a ham that isn't cute

Re: Adopting tomorrow
Great news. He is lucky to have found you x. Looking forward to meeting him and I am sure he will respond to you fairly soon. We adopted Moo when he was a year old - he was tame but a bit institutionalised! So not that keen on being handled for a while. It’s just confidence and bonding probably.
Looking forward to meeting him!
