Default My hamster is always asleep

Hi! me again. I have a dwarf hamster named Febe. I got Febe round about June, so we are pretty much bonded. She came in terrified but we are good now. But, she is quite an independent hamster compared to my others. But here’s the issue. She use to wake up around 10, and that wasn’t an issue as i’m up anyways, but now she doesn’t come out will after 1AM? I’m totally aware they are nocturnal animals, idk i just feel as though that’s really late. Obviously i can’t stay up all night, so i need to go to bed. She has the Alaska cage with chews, wheel etc in it(bare things lol) anyways, i’m not sure what to do? I know this is bad, but i’ve tried waking her by shaking her cage, a lot 😰, but no matter what she is not getting up at all? (she is alive lol, i wake up at 3am at times and hear her) Should i just let her be and when she wants to see me, she’ll make me aware/wake up earleir? i love taking her out, but at the end of the day i’m not going to wake her up and force her.

Sometimes. they go through phases getting up at different times, shaking the cage is only going to scare her & make her less likely to come out, you could try gently rustling the substrate a b it & calling her, or put a treat near her nest & see if that will entice her out.
If you’ve bonded with her & she’s no longer scared then she will come out if she wants to.
I would just give her a while & see if she starts to come out earlier, sometimes the ones that get up late stay up later in the morning too so you may find a more suitable time early in the morning when she’s still around.

You could try turning out all the lights. With our ham, she will often come out if we turn out the lights, just leaving on a small salt lamp on the far side of the room.

She sleeps in her bedding rather than hides, when i do russel the bedding a little she doesn’t seem to react/wake up. I have my light on from roughly 9-11 pm due to my other hamster being out. I guess i’m just at loss of what to do. I wake up at 7-8 at times, and she isn’t awake then. She tends to sleep/burrow a lot, but i know that’s normal. Do i just wait for her to want to come out by walking up earleir?
