Default Hamster vs water bowl

I have a young dwarf hamster (Hamlet) and I was going to get him a water bottle but the pet stores here are selling them at ridiculous prices so I got him a little bowl instead. He can reach it and has no problem drinking from it (except on the first day I got him when he accidentally half-slipped into it, but luckily that hasn't happened again), my main problem with his water dish is that at night he's very active and he always gets bedding into it while he's burrowing or moving his toys around. I know it isn't a big issue to his health in any way because I clean it and fill it up with clean water every day but it's wasting quite a bit of bedding. Is there any way I can prevent this?

I love the name Hamlet.
Yes, you can get a bowl that attaches to the side of the cage. I put a large glass marble or a pebble inside the water bowl of small hamsters so they can't fall into it.

I keep my hamster’s water fish up on top of a hide to prevent the bedding from getting into it. If none of your hides would hold it you could also get a small cardboard box to put it on top of or a little shelf

My water bowls are all on top of the hams houses or on a shelf to keep them just above the substrate & I don’t have any problems with substrate getting into the bowls.
I make simple shelves for things like bowls or heavy items like sand baths just using a piece of ham safe wood with dowels glued on for legs.
