Re: Identifying Syrian Hamster Colour?
On looking at those sideways pics I think he may be actually banded rather that dominant spot as there is a stripe of white up his side then a blotch on top all in the 'band' area. As his belly appears to be white I'm pretty sure he does have a pattern there and I think he's a version of grey. He doesn't look like a tiny baby to me. I'd say about 10-12 weeks.
It is hard to tell when you can't see them in the fur so to speak as they can look very different in different lights from photos.

Re: Identifying Syrian Hamster Colour?
I've gotten some updated pics of Aiko, and I still haven't figured out what colour he is lol. I do think you're right though, Souffle - i think he is a weird broken banded rather than dom spot.
I just can't help but feel like he's too yellow for sepia grey, unless the images I'm looking at are mislabelled sepias - they all seem too dark.
Here's more updated pics, which show his true to life colour. It's not important to know - he's just a pet. I'm just curious, as always haha - and the various syrian colours fascinate me, even though i suck at identifying them!
