Default Instagram Hamsters

Hello friends, hope everyone's doing good with the lockdown and this current covid19 crisis.
My hamster had mange in April due to the heat and stress. But hes A-OK now.
This post is just to ask if anyone's seen any Instagram pages which have hamsters and most of them are lying completely still and allowing their owners to pet them while they sleep or sitting still.
My hamster acknowledges me, allows me to hold him and isn't afraid of me. But if i try petting him when hes asleep i know for sure it would annoy him and he'd try to bite me. When hes awake hes super active and runs around me climbing over me but he never stays as still as the hamsters in the videos do.
Do your hamsters behave like the ones in the videos or like mine does.

Genuinely very curious

Saddly I think that is what a lot of people who get hamsters expect to be able to do with theirs because they have seen it on social media, when in reality I just don't think that happenes a lot of the time.
My two male syrians when I was young would just fall asleep in my dressing gown pockets and sit on my bed and fall asleep, but my 3 females and one male syrian I have had more recently have never done that, they are definitley in the same category that yours is.
I would also never attempt to stroke them if they were asleep in their cage, it would scare them and they sure wouldn't be happy about it.

I managed to stroke my late hamster Archie, I would gently talk to him and then gently stroke him as he slept and he was fine. With Noah, he sometimes let's me but, only when he goes into his chill out corner.
Every hamster has it's likes and dislikes.

I could never stroke a sleeping hamster because the Syrian sleeps in his big nest in his house and the dwarfs and Robo are burried somewhere in the substrate.

I always compare the video hamsters with the models in magazines. Not quite the real thing.

Here is me thinking that this is a thread about our instagram accounts for our hamsters (i have one)

Out of my 13 hamsters, I've got two that will sit perfectly still whilst I stroke them. I posted a video of one of them about a month or two ago and I was asked how I got her to do that but honestly that is just their nature.

Both are sisters whose ancestry was made up of very laid back hamsters (they are the granddaughters of Lord James for those that remember how laid back he was). The girls really are laid back to the point of laziness and although they're very cuddly, the downside is that they don't really do a lot.

I try and vary what I post of Elizabeth and Samantha with posts about my livelier hamsters... recentely I posted a video of my Syrian who does not sit still for a second for a bit of balance, she is just as lively as my Robos and she's hard work sometimes but that's who she is!

My past hamster Cocoa would sit in my bath robe for an hour or more. My hamster now, Nutmeg, will sit it my robe for a little while, but usually she just wants to run. If I pet one of them while they were in my robe, they didn't mind.

Thats true, my hamster loves running around.
He had a fall today, he managed to climb a small table while i wasnt looking, ( im still in shock) and then promptly jumped off and continued running
