Exclamation I really need your help!

Oscar, my hammie is gradually waking up later and later. It got to the point that he know wakes up at 00:30 or later. If I get him out to free roam, he keeps trying to get back on his cage. 1 month ago he wasn't anything like that. He was practically begging me to get out and free roam, we had so much fun and he would be out for an hour or so. To give you a point of reference, he would wake up at around 8:30 pm a month ago. He is also asleep when I wake up at 7am and I am extremely worried. Please help!

Hello Nakuzo. How old is Oscar?

Hamsters sometimes do just change their routines, I've seen it with my hamsters. Sometimes there is no reason but often they will become much less active if the weather gets colder. I hope this helps a bit?

Do you have a camera with video you could set up overnight? Or balance some bedding on the top of his wheel so you know he’s been up and about, I wouldn’t wake him if he’s sleeping, I wouldn’t be that interested if you woke me and would likely want to go back to sleep. Could he also be waking in the day without you noticing?

I believe he wakes up during the day (probably a little bit in the morning) and yes I am sure he is up during the night because I can hear him

Hamsters do sometimes change schedules & going through phases of not wanting to come out much then they often get active again, personally I would give some time to see if he begins to come out earlier at some point rather than trying to get him out, keep an eye on how he's eating & drinking & maybe get him out for a health check once in a while if you're concerned & then see how it goes.
