Exclamation Wierd hamster behavior

Hello everyone

I realised that my hamster keeps waking up later and later every night. He used to wake up at about 8:30 pm but now he can wake up even after 00:28 and be asleep when I wake up. I really don't know what is going on. He usually sleeps all day long and only wakes up to eat or drink water. Please help!

How old is he? My hamster was doing that so i just got her up myself, just usually rustling a food bag. Make sure he's not ill or has any lumps or bumps on him, that he's eating and drinking as usual. As they get older, they do tend to sleep longer, might be out less frequently during the night.

He is almost 2 months old, and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary 2 days ago when I let him fee roam. Runs fast, smells a lot, explores etc. Should I just force him out?

You can entice him out at a set time each night if you get him out for a run. I used to get my hamster out every night at half 8 or 9pm and she was in a routine, she would get out for an hour, not just in a ball but for a run around every night and she would usually go back to bed and come out much later at night...I think thats standard for them. Dont push him though if he doesnt want to, try to respect his nest
This is my last night with my hamster, vets tomorrow shes slowed down considerably....enjoy him...wish we could have them a little longer!

Has the weather gotten colder? I find that my hamsters are 'up' for longer during the night when the temperature is warmer and when it gets colder they only come out for a short period.

It might not be the case but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Could be. I moved to another city due to the corona virus and though he has a bigger cage now, it might be a tad colder. Nothing extreme though.
