Yes i know some people don't like the smell of it. I like it, doesn't bother me. Also after a few days whatever smell it has goes away a bit anyway,
Although Aubiose is more expensive then megazorb I think it lasts longer, you seem to get more in the bag (compacts down) than megazorb. But a bag of both lasts me a really long time, You just need somewhere to store them.

I think that you could place ceramic or plastic corner toilets in their pee corners to protect the paper substrate and fill them with woodchips because they're cheaper. You probably have to change the woodchips in their toilets daily.

I have tried that but Athena chews the container other 2 aren't fussed but she's very... particular

I'm going to get some aubichick in a bit. From what I understand it's the exact same as aubiose except it's marketed for çhickens and rabbits rather than horses.

I went to 2 equine/farm shops and both gave me weird looks when I asked if they stocked hemp bedding. As well as exclaiming 'HEMP BEDDING?!' Both said they never heard of it and a the one said it was discontinued. Ugh.
Thanks I'll have a nose

Re: Bedding help
I use auboise bedding, i know it from when i rode horses and it keeps horse p*** in check and i find that it keeps hamster pee absorbed well, Polo goes in her corner toilet, and i literally do a horse stable style change of her toilet, its easy to recognise the pee'd on auboise and take it out, then i just wipe the corner quickly with a piece of damp kitchen roll and put the okay auboise back.

Ah good to hear. Good odour control too?
Is that really a stable style? I have always done that with my hand and when I had rats...can't be wasting bedding if it's good to be used again

It seems to keep the odour in check, i remove the soiled stuff every other day. I've a lady so sometimes her environment is smellier than other days because she's in season.
Thats what i did in the stable, used a pitch fork though lol, just pick it up and throw it all to one side and picking out the soiled bits then smooth it all back down.

Re: Bedding help
I like auboise bedding, it has worked great for me so far. I combine it with paperbased and a bit of soft hay in layers to help his burrowing tunnels to stay stable.
