Re: Introducing The Boy (actual name pending)
Milo still appeals to me It is hard choosing names. I was never able to find names with a particular significance so we just chose ones we liked and were easy to say. Some people have themes (eg food - which would include Pickle, Cracker, Sausage, Muffin etc). Or characters from favourite films (Harry, Ron, Gandalf).

Re: Introducing The Boy (actual name pending)
For what it's worth with all the intense planning I've been doing for a certain future pet including loads of time looking into all different obscure names with interesting origins and meanings I've ended up settling on a really simple(yet still meaningful at least to me)name. Even with the popular names out there for various pets, they can still be meaningful to individual pet owners! I know my current only dog has what seems to be the most cliche dog name(Marley, and I swear every single person including my own mother automatically assumes he's named after a certain movie - he's genuinely named after Bob Marley though).

Re: Introducing The Boy (actual name pending)
I'm late to the party, but he is just gorgeous!
Of the names you suggested I like Pickle the best, but that's a general term of endearment for me. Names can be really hard to choose, and I find having a theme helps personally; our rabbits have been named after tricksters and the hamsters have names from the periodic table. I shamelessly stole that from Erinsanimals, but a lot of the elements are just fun to say!

Re: Introducing The Boy (actual name pending)
I unintentionally fell into the Thomas the tank engine theme by naming my first hamster Henry and then adopted one already named Gordon........
Does the boy have a name yet?

I too stole the elements thing for my previous hamster, she was called Mercury (although we called her bloob/blob more often as when she ate she'd curl up into a little ball and look so round and fuzzy lmao)

Yeah and why not. Hi Boy, come here Boy, there's a good Boy, bad Boy (should he bite), how's my Boy today......we say it all the time anyway. He probably knows by now that he is The Boy and will start to respond to it.

Re: Introducing The Boy (actual name pending)
That is exactly how my dog "Buddy" and Gecko "Bubba" got their names... the placeholder just ended up being right! And our hammy is "Snowball" because he is also a perfect little white ball when he eats.

I was very happy with the name I gave my late hamster (Chiclet), and yet whenever I talked to her, I rarely said her name; I just called her "Little Girl." For whatever odd reason, it gave me the warm-and-fuzzies to call her that....

Re: Introducing The Boy (actual name pending)
I totally agree with “Boy”. You were looking for perfect name not even knowing you have already found one . I agree with Ria, why not “ Boy”. He most likely is used to hearing it and in my opinion name as good as any other that you would have chosen.
