Re: Where do you keep your hamster(s)?
You'll get used to it I'm sure. I actually think that having your hamsters in your bedroom is really nice. You can keep an eye on them and I think there is something wuite soothing on hearing their wheels whirring round.

Re: Where do you keep your hamster(s)?
Mocha stays in my bedroom, which is nice and quiet for both him and me and I can spend as much of the night awake with him without disturbing anyone else in the house.
Luckily I am as nocturnal as he is, and I love falling asleep to his little nibbling, digging and wheeling. So far I get to tell him both good morning and good night, although reversed.

Yes I think they take in some of our culture too! Newt used to actually watch TV a bit. They definitely appreciate music and respond in different ways. I might try playing Mozart one day - there was a study done somewhere that said babies who listened to Motzart grew up more intelligent. Mind you hammies are pretty intelligent anyway - except when they think they’re lemmings .
I am sure it is part of their bonding with us - being immersed in our environment.

Do you have a silent wheel? It’s a must in a bedroom.

Yes, I do. It's the Trixie 28cm one and it's pretty quiet. I only find it a problem when they decide to put food in there too and it rattles around. What woke me up was her climbing the bars I think. I had a bin cage before so that wasn't a problem!

Re: Where do you keep your hamster(s)?
Our two live in the hamster room, sorry, family room where they now have their (our) new 55" TV to watch. We often eat down there and the dwarf in particular is a real foodie, demanding attention and food, and then more food.

He's probably been watching Masterchef on your big screen TV!

I used to have six hamsters in my bedroom at one time!
